Canal Litter

2021 couldn’t have ended better with crazy changes day by day but we can’t just let media distract us from what is really important in our world today. As we are entering a New Year we have to think about what we have to change in ourselves that will have a change in the world and by change I mean a major impact on how we can co-op with the world and make it better.

Litter And Pollution Crisis

Canal located in lake worth Florida 2021

One thing I have done is to volunteer on my own and have picked up many trash from canals , lakes and beach some in which was very sad to see and just let that trash sit there for days, weeks, months without a single soul taking a minute out of their time to pick up a single empty plastic bottle floating in the canal. I had to take action right away as I care for every animal in this world, this litter is causing extreme damage and some people cannot see how important it is to keep our aquatic ecosystems clean. People need to start being more responsible in order to prevent pollution which is causing fish and other animals to die off.

Many think its okay to just throw a small piece of plastic out their car window not knowing where it will end up nor caring where the wind will take it but at the end off the day most of the plastic that is thrown out will eventually end up in the ocean putting most of the aquatic ecosystems at risk as well as all living organisms that depend on these ecosystems.

Changing The way we think

Before trying to get involved in helping our aquatic ecosystems to continue to thrive we must change the way we think by doing so ask yourself next time what will be the damage made. Getting involved with non profits is a great way to change how you think about this litter issue that is happening as i write this. Non profit organizations like the Ocean Clean Up, and River Clean Up are good ways to learn how they are helping out our aquatic ecosystems from litter. There are countless of ways to help one is by you making the first step and volunteering whether it is cleaning up your local lake, canal or even the beach , take pictures and share them on social media be the influencer to a better future and a cleaner Aquatic ecosystem.
